The essentials
AniArcade is operated by WDYM Softworks. This policy covers the AniArcade app inside Root and its information pages on wdym.site.
Your community has its own app data. Game progress, saved songs and playlists belong to the community where you use AniArcade; the app does not sync them into other communities. Game results and community discussions are visible to other members. Listening and game activity can also appear in the activity bar, with a separate setting to turn sharing off.
AniArcade does not award XP for ordinary chatting, sell your personal information, run advertising trackers, or send your messages and game answers to an AI service. Root handles your platform account under its own privacy policy.
Data used by the app
Root identity and permissions. Root supplies user and community identifiers, display names, and the channel, role and permission information needed for enabled features. We use this to identify participants, enforce member and administrator permissions, choose event channels, and deliver configured game reward roles. AniArcade does not ask for your Root password, payment details or email address.
Games and community features. The app stores participation, answers and answer times, scores, votes, tournament results, XP, ranks, achievements and role reward records. It also stores favorite anime, anime likes and comments, and watch club nominations, votes, progress, ratings and discussions when you use those features.
Configuration and reliability. Community settings, saved event templates, settings revisions with the staff member’s name, delivery records and limited failure diagnostics support administration, troubleshooting and recovery. Diagnostics can include an error, time and affected operation.
What other members can see
Members can see community events, results, rankings and participation shown by the app. Anime likes are shown as community counts; comments and watch club discussions show their authors. Comments awaiting moderation are visible to their author and authorized moderators. Reward roles are visible according to Root’s role settings.
Activity sharing is enabled by default. While you listen or participate, AniArcade can show your name and the song or event in the community’s app activity bar. Turn off Share my listening & game activity under Playback & activity in the music preferences to stop sharing. Hiding the activity bar only changes what you see; it does not disable sharing. Activity entries are temporary and expire after about 45 seconds without an update.
Private app views are not a promise that stored data is inaccessible to the community’s administrators, Root as the hosting platform, or the operator when authorized access is needed to administer the app or resolve a support request. Do not put sensitive information in comments, playlist names or live messages.
Chat events and live rooms
When a community enables chat engagement, AniArcade processes messages Root delivers from the configured channels to count channel activity and recognize eligible trivia replies. Recognized help and leaderboard shortcuts can also be processed to provide a response. Accepted trivia answers become part of the game record. AniArcade does not keep a separate archive of ordinary channel message text.
For channel selection, the app keeps hourly activity counts for a rolling 24-hour period and a bounded list of recently processed message identifiers to prevent duplicates. Event announcements and results sent into Root chat remain subject to Root’s and the community’s message retention and moderation.
Live reactions and short event-room messages are visible to other participants. They are held in server memory rather than saved to the community database: recent chat is limited to 30 messages from the last 10 minutes, and reactions appear briefly. Room data clears on a server restart and idle rooms expire. Moderators can remove messages or clear a room. Other members may still copy or capture content they have seen.
Saved songs and playlists
Liked songs, playlist names and tracks, and playback and activity preferences are stored under your Root user identifier in the current community. Your liked songs and unshared playlists are private in the member interface. They do not appear automatically in another community.
Sharing makes a playlist available to other members of that community. A shared app link is not a secret access code. Only share a playlist you want members to see. You can remove liked songs and delete your own playlists using the app’s controls. Music playback itself is optional; it is not required to earn game XP.
The app stores song references and preferences, not a permanent recording of your listening history. Temporary listening activity is handled as described above.
Anime, trivia and media providers
The app server retrieves anime metadata, artwork, character information, trivia and opening music from providers including Kitsu, TMDB, AniList, Open Trivia DB, AnimeThemes and Openings.moe. Search terms and the title or media identifier needed for a request may be sent to the relevant provider. Providers receive normal server request metadata, such as the requesting server’s IP address. AniArcade does not intentionally send these providers your Root identity, game answers, community comments or personal playlists.
Audio preparation. A protected media service operated for AniArcade can retrieve, convert and cache permitted source audio. The Root app server sends the media source URL and requested clip duration, not your Root user identifier, messages, answers or playlists. This service is separate from the community database, and its media cache is temporary.
When you choose to open a link to YouTube, Kitsu or another external website, that service receives the normal information from your browser and applies its own privacy policy. Opening an external link is your choice.
Storage and retention
Core app records are stored in the Root-hosted database for the community. Profiles, game history, XP and reward records, watch club records and discussions, anime likes, saved songs, playlists and community settings have no automatic expiry. These records are removed through available controls, an authorized deletion request, applicable community or platform administration, or a feature’s storage cap. For example, watch discussions keep the most recent 200 messages per event, and settings history keeps the most recent 30 revisions.
Anime comments have an administrator-selected retention period of 7 to 365 days. Routine cleanup removes expired comments; configured community and per-anime storage limits may remove older comments sooner. Administrators can also moderate or remove comments. Archiving an event does not itself erase its data.
Live activity and event-room data are temporary as explained above. Channel activity counts cover the last 24 hours, and duplicate-message identifiers are capped at the most recent 1,000. Other delivery and diagnostic lists are bounded rather than a permanent chat archive.
Provider responses and artwork may be cached temporarily. The external audio service treats cached media as expired after 7 days, removes expired files during cache cleanup, and may evict media earlier to stay within its storage limit. This cache contains media files, not member profiles or playlists. Root, hosting providers and community message systems may retain their own operational records under their policies.
Your choices and requests
You can stop sharing activity, remove song likes, delete your playlists, unlike anime, and delete your own anime comments through available app controls. Community administrators choose enabled game modes, chat event channels and automation, comment moderation and retention, and live-room features.
You may request access, correction or deletion of your AniArcade data by emailing imbrave@wdym.site. Include your Root user identifier, the community concerned and the records or action you mean. We may need to verify that the request is yours and coordinate with the community administrator or Root. Never send your Root password or authentication token.
Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to receive a copy, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a relevant privacy authority. We will explain any limits that apply to your request. Deleting an app record does not erase copies already posted in Root chat, saved by other members or retained independently by the platform.
Security and this website
AniArcade uses Root identity and permission checks to control app actions. Media service credentials are kept on the server, and the service restricts permitted sources and uses HTTPS. Stored records and media caches have limits to reduce unnecessary storage. No service can guarantee absolute security; Root is responsible for the underlying platform and its own handling of account and hosting data.
The AniArcade information and privacy pages are hosted by Vercel. Hosting requires ordinary request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested URL and request time. See Vercel’s privacy notice for its handling of information. These AniArcade pages do not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts or a login form. Other WDYM products and interactive pages have their own notices.
The app can remember a local live-overlay display preference on your device. This is a functional preference, not an advertising identifier. If you email us, we also receive the email address, message and attachments you provide to handle your request.
