About BRAVE

BRAVE is a moderation app for Root communities, operated by WDYM Softworks. It provides configurable local rules, reports, appeals, cases, insights and optional Atlas protection. By installing or using BRAVE, you agree to these Terms as they apply to your use of the app. Root’s Terms of Use, Community Guidelines and community permissions also apply. These Terms do not replace or override Root’s terms.

Community administrators

Administrators choose the rules, actions, exemptions, logs and optional features used in their community. You are responsible for configuring BRAVE appropriately, granting only needed permissions, informing your members about relevant moderation practices, and reviewing important or disputed outcomes. Some actions depend on Root permissions and channel or role configuration and may not succeed in every location.

Atlas sharing, AI analysis and automatic Atlas bans must each be enabled through BRAVE’s settings. AI analysis is available only for communities with 700 members or more and may be paused by capacity limits. Local rules continue to operate independently.

Members and moderation decisions

Members must follow applicable law, Root’s rules and their community’s rules. Do not use BRAVE to harass others, evade safety controls, submit false reports, or interfere with the service. BRAVE can remove messages, notify staff, create cases or apply actions selected by administrators. A match is a signal, not a finding of intent; mistakes and missed content are possible.

If you believe a BRAVE action was wrong, use the in-app appeal option where available or contact community staff. You may also email imbrave@wdym.site about an app-related concern. Root and community administrators retain their own authority over accounts, channels and membership.

Availability and changes

We work to keep BRAVE reliable, but Root APIs, permissions, service limits, networks and third-party providers can affect its operation. No automated system can detect every harmful message or prevent every raid. We may fix, change, suspend or discontinue features to maintain safety and compatibility. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes.

Data and privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what BRAVE processes, optional sharing, retention and deletion requests. Administrators should read it before enabling Atlas or AI. You retain the rights you have in your own content; these Terms grant only the permissions needed to operate the app within Root’s platform terms.

Responsibility and contact

BRAVE is provided with reasonable care, but automated recommendations and actions should not be treated as a substitute for human judgment. To the extent permitted by applicable law, WDYM Softworks is not responsible for indirect losses or for failures outside its reasonable control. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

For support or questions about these Terms, contact imbrave@wdym.site. We may update these Terms; the latest date appears at the top of this page. Continued use after an effective update means the updated Terms apply, where permitted by law.
